Moving Day Means Cleaning Day

If you thought that just because you’re moving out of your home you don’t have to clean, think again. It’s polite to leave the house not looking like a hurricane went through it. That being said, not everyone cares how they leave their former abode. There are some things that you simply are not going to get away without cleaning however.

Who wants to wear dirty clothing in a clean house?

Use that washer and dryer one more time to make sure that you’re moving with clean clothing and linens. And it can’t hurt to wrap those linens and clothing in plastic to avoid excess dirt and possible moisture during handling. Rugs are another thing you might want to consider having cleaned before your move. After all, why bring the old house’s dirt into the new house?

If you’re leaving behind your appliances

Dryer hoses in particular can pose a serious fire threat so it’s good to clean those before you move (or move in). If you’re leaving behind the washer and dryer please wipe them out and make sure that they are clean. By defrosting and cleaning out the freezer you will leave the next person a fresh smelling freezer to deal with… baking soda can help in your endeavor.
